16 – 18 FEBRUARY 2011
This three-day course, which has been held annually since 2007, offers comprehensive coverage of all MRI-related aspects of SPM, including
- spatial preprocessing and voxel-based morphometry
- mass-univariate and multivariate analyses of fMRI data
- Bayesian analysis methods
- Dynamic Causal Modeling and Bayesian Model Selection
The faculty includes
- Guillaume Flandin (London)
- Tom Nichols (Warwick)
- Ged Ridgway (London)
- Christian Ruff (Zurich)
- Jean Daunizeau (Zurich)
- Hanneke den Ouden (Nijmegen)
- Kerstin Preuschoff (Zurich)
- Justin Chumbley (Zurich)
- Kay Brodersen (Zurich)
- Lars Kasper (Zurich)
- Christoph Mathys (Zurich)
- Sandra Iglesias (Zurich)
- Rosalyn Moran (London)
- Klaas Enno Stephan (Zurich & London)
Particular features of this course
- coverage of cutting-edge analysis tools in SPM8
- two practical and user-driven sessions (3h each) in small groups at the computer
- all presentations are generously timed, allowing for plenty of questions and in-depth discussions
- regular coffee breaks between talks - to keep concentration and allow for a maximum of interaction amongst participants and faculty

- Group analysis of fMRI data, with a focus on statistical non-parametric mapping
- Bayesian analyses of fMRI data
- Voxel-based morphometry
- Dynamic Causal Modelling
- Multivariate methods & decoding
Coffee break approx. from 16:30-16:45, depending on group dynamics
REGISTRATION FOR THE SPM COURSE 2011
Available categories:
- 1. Category: Lectures and practical sessions
With this category, you will participate in both the lectures and practical sessions.
Fee: CHF 700
In order to ensure small group sizes for the practical sessions, a maximum of 80 participants will be accepted for this category on a first-come, first served basis.
- 2. Category: Lectures only
With this category, you will participate in all lectures, but not in the practical sessions.
Fee: CHF 300
- 3. Category: Students and staff of the University of Zurich
If you are affiliated with the University of Zurich you can attend all lectures for a strongly reduced fee; please contact the course administrator for details. If you would like to participate in the practical sessions as well, however, you need to pay the full price (CHF 700).
Please note that you have to send in a copy of your valid University of Zurich ID card when you apply in order to register under this category.
Steps for registration:
- Reservation: To reserve a place on the course, please send an email to the course administrator Ms Eva Gschwend, Email: eva.gschwend@iew.uzh.ch Your email must contain the following information: Your full postal address (for billing reasons) and the preferred category.
- Payment: If places are still available, you will receive a confirmation by email that a place has been reserved for you. You will also be informed how to pay the course fee by bank transfer. Please note that payment has to be completed within 30 days, otherwise your reservation will expire and the place will be made available to the next applicant.
- Registration: Registration is only completed once your payment has been received. This will be confirmed by email.
If the first category is already fully booked when you apply, you will be put on a waiting list and notified if a place becomes available.
Please note that we cannot reimburse any course fees for applicants who have registered but find subsequently that they are unable to participate. You can, however, transfer your place to a colleague of yours, provided that we are being informed of this change in advance.
For further information and any questions, please feel free to contact the course administrator: Ms Eva Gschwend, Email: eva.gschwend@iew.uzh.ch.
We look forward to welcoming you at Zurich!
